LOWER TRESTLES, Calif. – The Body Glove Surfbout was an unqualified success in terms of surf, performance and overall stoke. However the fun and stoke were not limited to the beach as Body Glove along with Adio, Oakley and ASG helped raise money for the Surfrider Foundation’s Save Trestles Campaign. Body Glove invited the Surfrider Foundation down to the beach to set up a booth and inform the beach crowds about the issues affecting Trestles and proposed Toll Road.
The Surfrider Foundation held an online charity auction during the event, with 100% of the winning bids going to assist with the Save Trestles campaign. All week long, supporters were able to go to eBay to bid on incredible packages from Body Glove, Oakley and Adio, that included signed boards by such pros as CJ Hobgood, Taylor Knox, Chris Ward, Mike Losness and Holly Beck. By the time all of the bids were in on Monday, the auction raised close to $3,500 for the Save Trestles campaign! Along with the auction, the event brought a lot of attention to the effort.
Body Glove Team Rider and all around great guy, CJ Hobgood, earned $100 from his sponsor Body Glove for winning his heat. CJ then turned around and donated the $100 straight to the Surfrider Foundation’s Save Trestles campaign. Needless to say, everyone at the Surfrider Foundation and everyone who loves Trestles and want to protect it was very stoked!
